The toddlers

This is the stage of life when a great urge to explore begins. Between the ages of one and three, children make enormous developmental leaps in the areas of movement, language, thinking, and emotions. However, the range of development is quite broad; there are early developers as well as late developers.

Many children start kindergarten at this age. Infections are most common at this stage, as these are new environments for the children. Fever is therefore a natural reaction to these pathogens. Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids, preferably water or tea. If your child's general condition changes or they experience pain, a visit to the doctor is advisable.

U7 21st - 24th month of life: motor development, language development, increasing autonomy

U7 34th - 36th month of life: Beginning of kindergarten age, development of language, emotional world and social behavior

U8 46th - 48th month of life: in kindergarten, language development, increasing independence

U9 60th - 64th month of life: Preschool age, development of school skills

Primary school age

During primary school, thinking becomes more logical and systematic. Children learn to concentrate and better understand cause and effect. Fine and gross motor skills are significantly refined through writing, crafts, and sports. Children learn to make friends and negotiate conflicts, thereby also learning to understand their own feelings as well as those of others. Due to these life changes, self-esteem becomes strongly linked to performance and feedback.

Be mindful of the pressure to perform, which can quickly build up. Children need recognition for their hard work and effort, not just for good grades. Mistakes are helpful in learning. Children shouldn't feel that their parents' love depends on their school performance. Give your child plenty of time and space for free play, as children need time to process their experiences. The use of media (tablets, mobile phones, game consoles, etc.) should also be clearly limited and supervised. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us!

U10 8-9 years of age (after grades 1 and 2): 1st primary school check, first examinations during school age, learning behavior, social behavior
U11 9-10 years (4th-5th grade): Transition to secondary school, learning difficulties, behavioral problems, media use

Youth

During adolescence (puberty), the body, brain, and psyche undergo a radical transformation. Adolescents are in a sensitive transitional phase: they are neither child nor adult.

Dear young people, at this stage it's easy to feel overwhelmed and alone. We're happy to advise you on all relevant topics for young people, such as nutrition, sports, acne, sexuality, school, media, and much more. If your parents think, or you think, that you can come to our practice alone, then give us a call or send us an email and feel free to drop by.
